King of Pop Michael Jackson dead at 50
MICHAEL JACKSON, the King of Pop, is dead. He was 50 years old. I woke up today, Friday, June 26, 2009, at the sound of a loud CNN report saying that Michael Jackson, one of my favorite artists of all time, was hospitalized and that he went into a deep coma.
A few minutes later, various media outlets started saying that MJ has died. I was still in shock and still couldn’t believe it. In the deep recesses of my heart, I was hoping that somehow, just somehow, there was still a glimmer of hope.
I was wrong.
The Los Angeles Coroner has confirmed that at roughly 2:26 PM of June 26, 2009, the King of Pop, the man behind the hits “Thriller,” “Billie Jean” and “You Are Not Alone”, the Gloved One has left us.
Michael Jackson – dead at 50.
Michael, this one is for you. Thank you for the grooves, the infectious music and the love. You will be sorely missed.
