Thank you for this information. We passed by Malaybalay yesterday returning from Davao to Talakag and took the opportunity to book accommodation at Haus Malibu for the Kaamulan Festival.
I must admit the roadworks between Malaybalay and CDO are much much better compared to last year. I noted that there’s only a couple of short stretches (that are still “work in progress” somewhere in Impalutao & Impasugong and another in the Manolo Fortich bondary. I’m hopeful that these will be completed by end of February at the latest.
I call on the the Kaamulan festival organizers to give priority on safety and security of the people. The last Kaamulan festival last year was a TOTAL FAILURE because of the outrageous killings during the festival ! And our law enforcers were NOT capable to apprehend the criminals !
If the organizers could not guarantee the safety and security of the people, it’s better NOT to have a Kaamulan festival at all!
@jobert – I think “total failure” is too much. There were failures, yes, but there were also good things. Many people enjoyed the festival as well and a lot of tourists had a better view of Bukidnon. Also, Tourism Sec. Durano also called Kaamulan the only authentic ethnic festival left in the Philippines. I think that was good, don’t you agree?
@Marilou – Hi Ma’am! Hope we can meet during the festival
Irene – would love to meet you and malaybalayan at some point during the Kaamulan festival. Will be there March 4-6. Is there a Bukidnon Bloggers Booth?
@Marilou – Hi Ma’am! I don’t think there’ll be one although I have yet to check with the Tourism Office if there’s still space for an extra booth =) Will keep everyone posted. Malaybalayan would love to meet you too! The streetdancing competition will be on the 6th. Does that mean that you won’t stay the entire day?
Irene – Thanks. Just to clarify, we will be checking out early on the 7th.
kinsa mga artista mg hatag og lingaw kanato??? pwd atong ipaanhi ang parokya ni edgar para bibo… hehe
@jobert ramiso
you are right ! the lives of the individuals are more precious than the whole festival ! so the organizers must give priority to the safety and security of the people !
Hi Bukidnon Online.
Hope to see during the Kaamulan Festival.
@Beejing – Hope to meet you
i hope Kaamulan festival will NOT be used as stage for the politicians to grandstand !
@roy : yeah right!
I hope and pray that Kaamulan Festival this year will be very peaceful, not like last year, where some people that were celebrating were killed without any reasons by notorious gangs !
Pede po mka ask kng asa magandang hotel dun at di masyadong mahal? please reply
Not sure if you can still find a vacant room since most hotels/inns are booked by now. In any case, try Haus Malibu and 1st Avenue Apartel
