27 Bukidnon folk receive livelihood assistance from Pilmico

The recently concluded “Mahalin Pagkaing Atin” campaign in Valencia City, Bukidnon was indeed a success! Pilmico, the food subsidiary of Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc., proved that they continue to champion backyard farming and sustainable livelihoods in the country through its donation of piglets, egg machines and bakery kits in the Province of Bukidnon last June 28, 2016.

Over 500 people from Bukidnon and nearby provinces witnessed the turn over ceremony of livelihood packagespiglets, egg machines and bakery kits – to 27 beneficiaries during the Mahalin Pagkaing Atin Food and Livelihood Expo held at TS MIX – SMS Gymnasium Sayre Highway, Hagkol, Valencia City.

The food and livelihood expo was also attended by Mahalin Pagkaing Atin Ambassador, Chef Boy Logro and Jefferson Abian – Assistant Vice President for Feed Sales – for Visayas and Mindanao.

The livelihood assistance, which consists of 30 piglets (each with one-cycle feed consumption), 10 egg machines (48-chicken set each with one month feed consumption) and 2 bakery starter kits (1- deck 4-tray bread oven, bread rack, working table, a delivery bike and 10 bags of flour), will enable local farmers to sustain their livelihoods through an easy-to- manage business with a quick return on investment, despite the threats of poverty, tragedy or conflict.
