Aldeguer, Sajulga team up, file COCs in Malaybalay

BUKIDNON NEWS | MALAYBALAY CITY NEWS | BUKIDNON ELECTION WATCH 2013 – As if to confirm talks that he really has severed ties with his former friend and ally, the incumbent vice mayor of Malaybalay City filed his official certificate of candidacy (COC) October 5, 2012 for Malaybalay City Mayor.

Victor Aldeguer, who ran alongside re-electionist Malaybalay Mayor Ignacio Zubiri in 2010, filed his COC at 10:35 AM October 5, 2012, the last day of filing. His running mate, Glorio Sajulga, councilor bets, family and supporters were at the Malaybalay Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office to accompany him.

Aldeguer and his team are running under the Aksyon Demokratiko party.

Aldeguer and Zubiri are known to be very close friends. In 2010, they ran under the same Lakas CMD Party lineup. This year, however, talks about them having a rift swirled. Allegations say that the rift started when Zubiri fired Aldeguer’s brother, who was allegedly among the 8 Malaybalay City employees who were reportedly caught on video engaged in a pot session. No video was ever made public.

Aldeguer told Bukidnon Online that the issues between him and Zubiri are far greater than the alleged video.

“Our health centers do not have enough medical supplies. Safety and peace and order is another issue. There are several purchases made by the city government that we need to look into. I know I can apply reforms at the city hall. I will make it a city hall that is open to all,” Aldeguer said.
