Bukidnon tennis player wins bronze in SEA Games 2015

Francis Casey Alcantara and his tennis partner Treat Huey recently bagged the bronze medals in the men’s doubles tennis category in the Southeast Asian Games or SEA Games 2015. Alcantara and Huey lost to Sanchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana of Thailand, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8, in the semifinals.

The SEA Games 2015 are currently being held in Singapore.

Francis Casey Alcantara, whose mother Sarah is from Malaybalay City, is also the first ever Filipino Australian Open champion. The Senate even commended him when he won via a Senate resolution.

Alcantara, who is also fondly called Nino, frequently played at the Freedom Park tennis courts in Malaybalay City during his younger years.
