Bukidnon to face rotating brownouts for the next five months

BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON UPDATES | CONSUMER – Now this is really bad news for all of us here in Mindanao. According to reports, there will be rotating brownouts all over the Visayas and Mindanao areas in the next 5 months. This is accordingly due to a confluence of factors including the regular maintenance and forced outages of some power plants all over the islands.

Bukidnon will be one of the areas that will be hit by these rotating brownouts.

In fact, a nearly 3-hour brownout hit Malaybalay City last night, February 10, 2010, at around 8 pm. Officials from the Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative (BUSECO) has not yet issued an official statement about the brownout last night.

Meanwhile, officials from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said that the power supply has been insufficient. “We are left with no alternative but load curtailment to districts and customers,” NGCP assistant vice president for operations and maintenance Emmanuel Abellanosa was quoted as saying.
