BukidnonOnline.com Exclusive: Is Governor Zubiri eyeing a transfer to another party?

BUKIDNON | BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON ONLINE | BUKIDNON ONLINE EXCLUSIVES – This is the million dollar question here in Bukidnon these days. Is it true that incumbent Bukidnon Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri, Jr. (who’s seeking the vice gubernatorial seat come May 2010) is now eyeing a transfer of political party?

Sources say that Zubiri, a long time LAKAS CMD KAMPI leader, is now allegedly thinking of supporting Nacionalista Party standard bearer Senator Manny Villar.

In fact, reliable sources tell BukidnonOnline.com that the governor and most of his local partymates here in Bukidnon met this morning in Maramag, Bukidnon.

Can’t help but wonder if the transfer of political support was included in the agenda although a reliable source told BukidnonOnline that this “transfer was 80% sure.”

Zubiri’s alleged transfer is reportedly because of LAKAS CMD KAMPI standard bearer Gibo Teodoro’s dwindling ratings. Teodoro is way behind the surveys. Villar and Liberal Party’s Noynoy Aquino usually lead the surveys, with former President Erap Estrada not far behind.

Teodoro is, by the way, the expected guest speaker on March 10, 2010, the very day the province of Bukidnon celebrates its founding anniversary.

If you recall, Villar was the guest speaker during the Kaamulan Festival two years ago. Zubiri called him the “next president” then. A few months later, Zubiri endorsed Gibo Teodoro and then during the Kaamulan Festival last year, it was Loren Legarda’s turn to be called the “next president.”

Do you think Zubiri’s latest “plan” will push through? What do you think are the reasons behind this so-called transfer of political support?

Bukidnon Online tried but failed to get an immediate comment from Sarangani Gov. Miguel Dominguez, LAKAS CMD KAMPI national president.
