BUKIDNON NEWS – The political scene here in Bukidnon is intensifying. After the recent declarations of incumbent Bukidnon 2nd District Rep. Teofisto “TG” Guingona III and former Bukidnon 1st District Rep. Neric Acosta to run for senator in the 2010 national elections, a known ally of Guingona has recently declared that he aims to take over Guingona’s current congressional seat.
Former Bukidnon vice governor Engr. Wenifredo Agripo, Sr. recently confirmed that he will run for congressman next year. He said that he will run under the Nacionalista Party led by presidential hopeful Senator Manny Villar. Rep. TG Guingona will run for senator under the same political party.
Agripo has long immersed himself in the political scene of Bukidnon. He used to serve as sangguniang panlalawigan member, vice governor and municipal councilor (Valencia City). Currently, he serves as Guingona’s chief of staff.
