BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON ELECTION WATCH 2013 – The filing of candidacies is set to start today, October 1, 2012, Monday. The filing of the Certificate of Candidacy or COC for the May 13, 2013 elections starts today in all Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices around the country.
The filing of COCs will be from October 1 to 5, 2012, 8 am to 5 pm. There will be no extension, according to COMELEC officials.
COMELEC Chairman Sixto Brillantes also called for a “dignified” filing of COCs.
COMELEC also reminded candidates that COCs should be filed with the correct offices. Candidates with political parties should also attach their certificates of nomination and acceptance (CONA) when they file before the appropriate COMELEC office. Failure to do so will prompt COMELEC to consider the said candidate independent.
In Bukidnon, the provincial COMELEC office is located along Sanvictores Street, Malaybalay City.
Meanwhile, voter registration is suspended from October 1 to 5. This is to give way to the filing of COCs. For those who still need to register as voters, here are the voter registration requirements and guidelines.
COMELEC officials told Bukidnon Online that the youth who voted during the 2010 Sangguniang Kabataan elections must still register until end of October 2012.
