NPA rebels attack Kibawe Bukidnon, leave 1 dead

BUKIDNON NEWS – Armed men believed to be members of the New People’s Army attacked the Kibawe Municipal police station at past 4 a.m. December 12, 2013. According to Kibawe municipal mayor Minerva Casinabe, around 40 to 50 NPA rebels stormed the Kibawe police station and stole firearms.

The attack also left SPO3 Rodelfin G. Alonzo dead and PO3 Junar Juban, PO2 Jonerey Maniego and PO2 Elizar Maandig Lacoste injured.

Accordingly, the rebels blocked the entry and exit points in the municipality. Casinabe lamented that Kibawe only has 8 policemen and were clearly outnumbered.
