Pulangui hydropower plant in Bukidnon back in full operation

We’re guessing this puts a stop to the dreaded rotational brownouts in Bukidnon as of late.

According to the National Power Corporation or NAPOCOR, the rehabilitation works done at the Pulangi IV hydropower plant in the Province of Bukidnon have already been completed.

This development means that said hydroelectric plant can now produce as much as 250 megawatts, as opposed to just 90 megawatts, during the evening peak hours.

If you remember, an advisory from BUSECO or the Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative (which has a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes, by the way), said that the repair work at Pulangui IV hydroelectric power plant may last until May 17, 2012.

Hence, since the rehab work has been completed by May 8, this means that they finished the repairs 9 days early.

Officials from NAPOCOR said that the repair was completed earlier than scheduled because “of the concerted efforts of the state generator’s operations personnel and Mamasar Construction, the contractor for the rehab project.

A NAPOCOR official was quoted as saying: “our plant personnel at Pulangi IV worked 24/7…to bring the power plant back on line.”

Which begs the question — kaya man lagi?
