Self-proclaimed “jejemon” now a Central Mindanao University honor grad

She may have been a “jejemon,” but look out world, she’s now a proud graduate – with cum laude honors at that! Meet Glory Grace Caballero Obenza, a graduate of Central Mindanao University located in Maramag, Bukidnon with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree.

On her Twitter account, Obenza said she was a “jejemon” 7 years ago. According to many sources, a “jejemon” is a person who has managed to subvert the English language to the point of incomprehensibility.” It is also a term used to refer to people, especially teenagers, who is fond of using symbols and unnecessary characters while texting messages, thus altering the clarity of the word formation as well as the meaning.

This year, however, Obenza said that she’s about to graduate with a latin honor. “Everyone surely has a room for improvement,” she writes.
