CONTROVERSY | BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON UPDATES | BUKIDNON ONLINE – Let’s face it. Whether we like it or not, it happened and it has put the Municipality of Talakag, Bukidnon on the map (albeit in such very unfortunate circumstances). The recent raid in Poblacion, Talakag conducted by the joint forces of the National Bureau of Investigation and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (yes, it took no less than the FBI!) yielded more than 20 allegedly stolen luxury vehicles from Houston, Texas, USA.

The cars were found in the warehouse owned by the half-brother of a certain Lynard Allan Bigcas, who hailed from Talakag before he migrated to the USA. Bigcas’ half-brother, who still lives in Talakag, is a certain Gilbert Omulon. Apparently, Bigcas has a car buy and sell business and he even has a website – which of course is no longer accessible.

The raid in Talakag, Bukidnon yielded about 12 luxury vehicles included a Corvette, a Chevrolet and even an expensive Harley Davidson big bike. Meanwhile, a parallel raid on a garage in Barangay Kauswagan in neighboring Cagayan de Oro City yielded 13 more luxury vehicles and big bikes.

Bigcas is now currently being hunted by authorities.

Now, about a day after the big raid, authorities are saying that Bigcas may be selling high-powered firearms and ammunition.

Authorities are now reportedly verifying the contents of Bigcas’ so-called black book that allegedly lists his clients who in turn also have alleged links to international terrorist groups supplying Bigcas with high-powered firearms and ammunition.

We don’t know about you but not only are we worried about this whole thing but we also have more questions now:

– how in the world did these alleged stolen luxury vehicles reach Bukidnon without raising even a smidgen of suspicion
– did the local Talakag government even bother to ask Bigcas if he had the proper papers for the vehicles? (why hello barangay captain!)
– what will happen to the Talakag police now? Will the Talakag police chief be made to answer?
– how does the Talakag mayor feel now? What will be his next steps?
– does anybody know what Bukidnon Governor Alex Calingasan plan to do now?

THIS IS REALLY ONE OF THOSE TIMES WHEN WE COULD ONLY WISH THAT THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF BUKIDNON BE USED TO RELEASE OFFICIAL STATEMENTS ON IMPORTANT MATTERS – EVENTS THAT ARE HAPPENING IN REAL TIME!

But ah…we’ve been on this road before…

  • No, not really. This does not taint the name of Bukidnon at all. This does, however, put the efficiency of the local police in Talakag in question. I don’t know about Talacag, but in our place in Camp Phillips, a Chevrolet or a Corvette will be noticed, people will ask! How come nobody questioned? Or was protection money involved?
