MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON – I had the privilege to witness a special event last Friday, March 20, 2009. Malaybalay City Mayor Florencio “Doc Boy” Flores, Jr. spent time with students of the Malaybalay City Central Elementary School SPED program. He treated some 80 children, along with their parents and/or guardians, at Jollibee – Malaybalay.
A short program was held and then the very special guests were greeted by a Jollibee mascot. The children had a blast having their pictures taken that day. Just check out the big smiles on their faces!
When I asked Mayor Flores what prompted him to extend such a generous and sweet gesture, he said that it was his way to make the children feel special and loved. He also wanted to give them the chance to have fun away from school.
“These are kids who deserve care and respect,” he said.
Here are some of the photos I took during that special day: (thank you to Malaybalay City Mayor Doc Boy Flores and to Miss May!)

How long has this SPED program been implemented? Anyway it’s good that the mayor took the time out. I agree, that was a nice gesture for the kids
Power gyud atong mayor diha! Go Mayor Flores! Wala kang katulad!
I bumped into Miss Ellen Delante, one of the SPED teachers, at Mall of Asia in Pasay City last week. She was all praise for Mayor Flores for being supportive of the “special children” not only financially, but also with his presence, in the Malaybalay Central School. Kudos, Mayor!
Looking good Mayor! I hope mudagan ka ug pagka congressman hehehehe
