BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON ELECTION WATCH 2013 – It was perhaps the first public display of support for one another after the recent confirmation of the Zubiri – Acosta alliance.
Bukidnon Vice Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri, Jr., the party chairperson of Bukidnon Paglaum Party (BPP), was at the Bukidnon Commission on Election (COMELEC) office today, October 3, 2012 during Maria Lourdes “Malou” O. Acosta‘s certificate of candidacy (COC) filing for Bukidnon First District Congresswoman under the Liberal Party.
Malou Acosta is the sister of former Bukidnon First District Congressman JR Nereus “Neric” Acosta, a known Liberal Party stalwart.
The Acostas and the Zubiris have long been political rivals until just a few weeks ago when BPP apparently forged an alliance with the Liberal Party. The Zubiri – Acosta alliance was confirmed to Bukidnon Online by both senatorial candidate Juan Miguel Zubiri and Malaybalay City Mayor Ignacio Zubiri.
Meanwhile, Clive D. Quino also filed his COC the same day. He is seeking for re-election as Bukidnon First District Board Member under the BPP.
