7 soldiers dead in Bukidnon helicopter crash

Seven soldiers died Saturday afternoon after a Huey helicopter of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) crashed in Barangay Busdi, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. The soldiers were all aboard the chopper when it crashed in a rice field at around 2:30 PM.

The PAF helicopter was 1 of 2 that brought supplies to the Impasugong unit of the 403rd Infantry Brigade.

The units were supposed to return to base but as the ill-fated helicopter maneuvered, it instead nose-dived.

News reports state that the pilot made sure that they will not crash on houses. The chopper crashed on a rice field instead.

No names of the victims have been made certain as of this writing.

Four of the crash victims were from PAF while the remaining 3 were soldiers from the 403rd Brigade.
