Australian envoy witnesses Philippine eagle release in San Fernando Bukidnon

Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Steven Robinson witnessed the release of Philippine Eagle Tagoyaman Fernando into the wild last April 22, 2021 in San Fernando, Bukidnon. Incidentally, April 22 is Earth Day.

The Australian envoy, together with Senate Majority Floor Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and representatives from the Philippine Eagle Foundation, witnessed the release.

Ambassador Robinson said that the Australian Government “continues to support” wildlife conservation and protection work.

Meanwhile, for his part, Senator Migz Zubiri said that “it was truly majestic to see our Haring Ibon take off from the carrier and into the forest.”

“The challenge now is to keep the habitat protected to ensure that survival of our very own King of the Birds,” Zubiri said.
