Bukidnon Red Cross eyes ‘Blood Center’

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Bukidnon Chapter is reportedly planning to open a “Blood Center” in the province.

Don Carlos Municipal Health Officer Dr. Filipina Villa, a director of PRC Bukidnon, said that they are eyeing a blood center similar to that found in several areas across the country whereby the public can voluntarily donate blood to help save lives.

To make this possible, Villa said that about Php 11 Million will be needed. The amount will be used to purchase the lot, erect the building and procure equipment.

The proposal for the Blood Center in Bukidnon was raised during a recent Sangguniang Panlalawigan session.

SP Presiding Officer and Bukidnon Vice Governor Rogelio Quino urged the group to present their plan to the governor.

The Philippine Red Cross is a humanitarian group known for promoting volunteerism and for its commitment to delivering safe, adequate and quality blood to Filipinos.

In Bukidnon, in an effort to encourage more people to donate blood, Red Cross offered FREE transpo and mobile donation opportunities.
