CAFGU and NPA members clash, results in 2 deaths

BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON | MANOLO FORTICH BUKIDNON – According to a news article written by PJ dela Pena of ABS CBN Northern Mindanao, two were killed in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon after a gunfight ensued between a former member of the Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) and more than 30 members of the New People’s Army (NPA).

Authorities said one of the victims, ex-CAFGU Jimmy Yabut, was attacked at around 5 a.m. on Monday by members of the NPA, led by “Commander Bulhog” and “Commander Dahon”.

The rebels are believed to be members of Front Committee 4-A of the NPA.

Authorities said the gunfight lasted for 35 minutes.

Another body, believed by authorities to be a member of the NPA, was found near Yabut’s home in Barangay Guilang-guilang in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
