Dance artist from Kalilangan Bukidnon awarded outstanding choreographer in the US
BUKIDNON NEWS | KALILANGAN BUKIDNON | SOCIETY – A dance artist, who was also a product and former teacher at the Bukidnon State University extension campus, was awarded “Outstanding Choreographer” last year during the 2009 PASINAYA.
Laurence Rey Gumban of Kalilangan, Bukidnon was awarded as Outstanding Choreographer during the 2009 PASINAYA Celebrity Chronicles’ Achievement Awards held at the MGM Banquet Hall, Pasadena, Los Angeles, California.
Gumban is a graduate of Bukidnon State University. He used to teach at the BSU Kalilangan campus in 2005 and was the choreographer of the Saut Community Dance Ensemble of Bukidnon. The said group joined the Tambayayong Festival 2006 in Los Angeles, California.
The award given to Gumban was in recognition of “his strong work ethics, leadership, artistry and excellence in choreography.” Celebrity Chronicle publisher and editor-in-chief Tony Vizmonte handed the award to Gumban.
Gumban, along with the other awardees, were cited for their achievements in providing worthy examples for within the Filipino-American community.
