Lantapan receives Ceramic Water filters

Thirty-six households in Sitio Kibuda and Maliwanag, Kibangay, Lantapan, Bukidnon will now have access to potable water through the utilization of the Ceramic Water Filter. This is under the Community Empowerment Through Science and Technology (CEST) Program of the Department of Science and Technology.

This is anticipated to reduce 50 percent of waterborne-related cases in the area.

The Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology designed and manufactured the hydria ceramic water filter technology to decrease waterborne diseases. It filters the bacteria and sediments in water.

Each household received a 6-Liter Ceramic Water Filter during the culmination of Nutrition Month on July 29, 2022, at the Balila National High School, Lantapan, Bukidnon. Recipients were also provided with orientation training on the proper use and maintenance of the ceramic water filters.

Is your community interested to receive the same ceramic water filters? Interested communities may email ([email protected]) or hand in their letter of intent to the DOST provincial offices in Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, and Misamis Occidental.
