Maramag election officer unaware of bolo-carrying man ‘simulation test’
The acting election officer of Maramag, Bukidnon claimed he was unaware of a ‘simulation test’ conducted at the Maramag COMELEC office which reportedly was part of a nationwide effort in preparation for the filing of the certificates of candidacy and of the May 2022 national elections. The ‘simulation test’ involved a man who carried a bolo and caused a ruckus at the Maramag COMELEC area.
Maramag election officer Rainero Niese said that his officemates were caught unaware and he himself also didn’t know about what he called was “drama.” Niese said that the queue of voter registrants got broken up, his staff panicked and the door immediately got closed because of him.
Niese wrote: “…bungkag intawon ang mga nag mga tawo nag parestro… no idea cla ug ang silingan namo nga office LTO.. pati mga sakop sa office nangataranta… close dayon nya pultahan tungod nako.”
The supposed suspect wore a short brim hat and his face was covered. Police operatives successfully disarmed him and he was also read his rights.
