Proposed: live TV coverage of the Malaybalay City council sessions

COMMENTARY | MALAYBALAY CITY NEWS | GOVERNMENT | POLITICS BUKIDNON – Several cities around Mindanao have been doing this for a couple of years now. Apparently the City Government of Malaybalay is about to do the same thing.

Apparently there’s a proposal for live TV coverage of the Malaybalay City council sessions. Well, technically it won’t be live and free TV since there’s no TV station that’s based in Malaybalay City. We’re thinking perhaps the coverage will be coursed through one of the cable TV channels.

As far as we know, there are three cable TV providers in the Province of Bukidnon – PARASAT Cable TV, Dream Satellite and another one that serves the Maramag/North Bukidnon/BUSCO/Central Mindanao University area.

This proposal sounds very promising and a good step towards Malaybalay City Government’s aim to be more transparent and accountable. We’re wondering if this proposal will really be pushed through during the incoming administration.

Plus…here’s a thought (and a friendly suggestion to the Malaybalay City government officials) — why don’t you have the council sessions aired live via the Internet first as a test of sorts?

Bukidnon Online can help 😉 After all, this humble blog about Bukidnon recently reached the 500,000 traffic mark!

Let’s see if we someone from the city government contacts us! Keep your fingers crossed guys 😀
