Resolution asking for distinctive titles among Bukidnon legislators filed
MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON – A resolution asking the Lower House of the Philippines (Congress) to establish distinctive title references among Sangguniang Members was recently filed before the Provincial Board of Bukidnon.
Resolution sponsor Nemesio Beltran, Jr. (2nd District of Bukidnon) said that move aimed to distinguish the various members of the legislative bodies. Sangguniang Panlalawigan members should be addressed as Board Members while Sangguniang Panlungsod members should be called Councilors. Sangguniang Pambarangay members, on the other hand, should be addressed as Kagawads.
Beltran’s resolution aimed to seek Congress to enact a law that could establish the said respective distinctions.
“The resolution I filed aims to help avoid confusion,” said Beltran to Bukidnon Online.
He also said that copies of the resolution were sent to Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno as well as to the three congressmen of Bukidnon. (BUKIDNON NEWS)
