The search is on for Bukidnon’s Best Delicacy 2009

BUKIDNON NEWS – The Bukidnon Tourism Office, in partnership with the DTI Bukidnon provincial office is organizing this year’s search for the province’s best delicacy. This activity is in line with the celebration of the Tourism Week on September 1-5, 2009.

A total of 16 entries were already submitted to the office of the DTI for confirmation. Entries presented range from cakes, cookies, tarts, cuchinta, chips, barquillos and veggie balls. These will be judged based on the following criteria:

Local content Raw materials used are found in Bukidnon – 30%
Presentation Packaging and labeling – 20%
Nutritional value Not junk food, less or no MSG/preservative – 15%
Taste Tastes good which Bukidnon can be proud of – 15%
Affordability Fair price (not expensive nor too cheap) – 10%
Shelf life Can be stored for at least 1 week – 10%

Winner will receive a cash prize of P10,000 and the title Bukidnon’s Best Delicacy 2009. Ten consolation prizes of P500 will also be given.

Judging will be on September 2, 2009 at the Bukidnon State University Covered Court and the awarding ceremony is scheduled on September 4 at four o’clock in the afternoon. (Press Release – DTI Bukidnon/Fam Villanueva)
