BIR Malaybalay collections increase

BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON BUSINESSES | MALAYBALAY CITY NEWS – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in the Province of Bukidnon seemed to have done a pretty good job last year. Reports state that the Revenue District Office (RDO) in Malaybalay City – RDO 99 – has successfully collected P187.32 Million last year. That’s an increase of 22.54 percent from P152.86 Million.

Reports say that a total of P1.43 Billion in revenue taxes have been collected by BIR Region 16. RR 16 covers Northern Mindanao.

Percentage Taxes also increased by Php1.70M, from Php62.41M to Php64.11M or 2.73 percent, but Excise Taxes, also known as “Sin” taxes which are levied on non-essential consumer goods, dropped from Php662,822.53 to Php121,189.91 or negative 81.72 percent.

This news about the increase in tax collection by BIR Malaybalay comes in the heels of reports that the BIR revenue district officer in Malaybalay City, Samer Muti, will be replaced.
