BUKIDNON ONLINE – Happy 2nd anniversary, Bukidnon Online! Hip, hip hooray! 🙂 Well, two years have come and go! How fast time flies, eh? Bukidnon Online, Your Bukidnon Community Blog, spent its second year on the web just a few days ago (so, yes, this post is super delayed!) Still, I would like to thank each and every one of my readers for the continued support. Rest assured that Bukidnon Online will continue its quest of sharing the latest in the Province of Bukidnon via the power of technology, new media, blogging and the Internet!
Bukidnon Online started because of a personal advocacy. I love to blog, I love to write, I consider myself a journalist (I spent more than 7 years in the local media then moved on to doing media relations and public relations then now I’ve found a way to “merge” those two together somehow), I love computers and the Internet, I like taking photos and I was, at the time, thinking of a project that I could do that could somehow affect the community as well.
Well…presto! Why not create a blog that would showcase Bukidnon? So I immediately bought a domain name, found a simple Joomla template (Bukidnon Online was using the Joomla software during its first few months) and then started typing and uploading photos away!
Surprisingly, however, as soon as Bukidnon Online got breathed into life, hundreds of people flocked towards it. I thought it was just “initial frenzy” — but as weeks passed, the traffic gradually increased. I guess it was because at that time, the official Bukidnon provincial government website was down and there were no other websites that purely featured Bukidnon-related news and updates and were “interactive” somehow (websites that had their own domains and hosting, I must add).
Today, I checked Bukidnon Online’s stats and the traffic has hit 226,982!
This means that Bukidnon Online has been visited 226,982 times! Wow!!! Quite a feat, yes??? 😀
Just for today, too, I easily found visitors from Beijing China, Canada, Houston Texas, South Carolina, United Kingdom, Kansas Missouri, Hongkong, Belgium, New York, Penang Malaysia, Singapore, Guam, North Carolina, Toronto, Vancouver, Alberta Canada, Saudi Arabia, Sydney Australia, Quincy Massachussetts, Mountain View California, Ahmedabad India, Honolulu Hawaii, Riyadh, Helsinki Finland, Estevan Saskatchewan Canada, Indonesia, Livingston New Jersey, Leavenworth Kansas, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, Macau, Savage Minnesota, Nijmegen Netherlands, Oslo Norway, Fishers Indiana, Alajarvi Finland, Stanton Michigan, Brooklyn New York, Spanish Fork Utah, Washington and Hungtington Beach, California!
And take note ha…these visitors from other countries visited TODAY. Who knows who’ll visit Bukidnon Online tomorrow, the day after next or a week from now?
Bukidnon really now has hit the global level! (woot!)
Of course, Bukidnon Online also has visitors from fellow Filipinos. Today, we have visitors from Angeles Pampanga, Cainta Rizal, Makati, Cebu, Bohol, Laguna, Davao City, Kidapawan, Koronadal, General Santos, Lanao del Norte, Cagayan de Oro, Iligan City, Las Pinas, Batangas, Tuguegarao, Dumaguete, Olongapo, Pasig, Tacloban, Iloilo City and Quezon City!
