Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri, Jr., a Negrense and son of sugarlandia by birth and cultural legacy, was a familiar figure in the lower house of Congress.
He is a BS-Management graduate of De La Salle University, and, with excellent foundations in business and finance, has the potential to sink in a lot of human resource capital to the local bureaucracy of Bukidnon.
Governor Zubiri’s experience in corporate management is vast. He acted as President and Chief Executive Officer of a number of business firms prior to joining public service. Among these were Urban Green, Inc., Rancho Mercedes, Inc. and Valle Escondida Farms. He was also EVP when he worked for the Bukidnon Sugar Milling Co. from 1975 to 1988.
His public service record lists a couple of years with the Batasang Pambansa where he was an Assemblyman from 1984 to 1986. He served as Congressional Representative from 1987 to 1998 before being elected to the governorship of the province of Bukidnon.
