Migs Zubiri opens ice business, says he’s quitting politics

BUKIDNON NEWS – Former Senator and 3-term Bukidnon 3rd District Representative Juan Miguel “Migs” Zubiri says he is no longer interested in politics and that he will now just devote his time on being a businessman.

Zubiri told Bukidnon News Online via text message that he is “no longer interested in politics” and that he has decided to focus and invest his time and finances in the province that he loves.

Migs Zubiri was recently in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon to launch his latest business venture – an ice plant named Z-Ice Purified Ice. The ice plant can be found along Moreno Street, Malaybalay City, beside Gaisano Mall Malaybalay.

His father, Bukidnon Governor Jose Zubiri, Jr., wife Audrey, Malaybalay City local officials and provincial government officials were present during the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Zubiri’s statement comes amid rampant chatter that he is set to become Bukidnon’s next governor in 2016.

In August 2011, Zubiri announced his resignation as senator following allegations of poll fraud. He vehemently denied all accusations.
