The youngest daughter of Bukidnon Vice Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri, Jr. is engaged. Stephanie Zubiri, the youngest daughter of Nonoy Joe Zubiri and Vicky Zubiri, is now engaged to be married to expat Jonathan Crespi.
This will be Stephanie’s second marriage. At 19, she got engaged to a French man named Victor Delfour. The marriage lasted for only 2 years and a half. In an interview with Cecile Lopez Lilles, she said that it was “very fast and I was very young.”
Still, the youngest among the Zubiri brood says that she still believes in marriage.
Stephanie Zubiri, who used to be based in France, is now back in the Philippines. She endorses Regatta, alongside director Paul Soriano. Stephanie Zubiri is currently the executive chef of Modern Epicurean Kitchen, editor in chief of Olive Magazine Philippines and president of Epicurus, Inc.

How is it that only movie stars and government officials (and their families) can routinely get an annulment (Filipino for divorce) in this country while others can almost never get them? The grounds for annulment are fraud, close family sanguinity making the marriage illegal in the beginning, inability to consummate the marriage, mental illness but if mental illness is claimed then the people must not have cohabited after they came to reason, the consent of either party was obtained by force or intimidation, lack of parental consent when 1 party was under age, sexual disease AT THE TIME OF THE MARRIAGE.
Now please tell me what grounds this woman had when she got married at the age of 19 and lived with the man for 2 1/2 years? To paraphrase from Hamlet, “There is something rotten in the state (province) of Denmark (Bukidnon).”
@Jerry Lynch – Uhmmm…they WERE NOT married in the Philippines.
With regard to annulment being given to “select few” – the judicial folks should be the ones to answer that.
Hi! Stephanie was married to a Frenchman. Under our Family Code, “where a marriage between a Filipino citizen and a foreigner is validly celebrated and a divorce is thereafter validly obtained abroad by the alien spouse capacitating him to re-marry, the Filipino spouse shall likewise have the capacity to re-marry under Philippine Law.”
So long as the divorce was obtained by the foreigner spouse in the country where he is from and for as long as the laws of his country of origin allows divorce, that decree shall be recognized here as well.
Thanks!
