Talakag Bukidnon barangay chief, driver ambushed

Bukidnon News, Bukidnon Updates, Crime, Talakag

Ok is it just me or is Bukidnon so popular these days and for all the wrong reasons?! It’s just so sad and unfortunate that the Bukidnon province is in the news these days not because of good things but because of accidents, ambushes, attacks, landslides and deaths.

Yesterday, something bad happened again. According to news reports, gunmen shot and killed the barangay chairman of Barangay Dominorog, Talakag, Bukidnon.

Fernando Nu-ol and his driver Cito Aranas were killed by alleged rebels. Nu-ol and Aranas succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Two others were injured — Editha Aranas and David Palacio. The two also suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

Nu-ol and his companions were allegedly attacked by rebels. They were on their way home from a seminar in Cagayan de Oro City.

According to police reports, 5 armed men strafed the vehicle.

And so my million dollar question now is…IS BUKIDNON STILL SAFE?!

  • I believe Bukidnon is very safe because I am not a wealthy business subject to “Revolutionary Tax” and I am also not an elected official. There is just no “will” in the people of this country to remove entrenched political dynasties so there is a repetition of all the problems and deep rooted corruption. That corruption needs to be rooted out from the bottom up, rather than by replacing presidents and top level government officials. The lack of will in the general populace tolerates such things as “Revolutionary Tax” by rebels and thieves so that employers are forced to close factories and people lose jobs and their livelihoods as a result.

It is beyond my comprehension why anyone runs for political office in this country unless they are already finacially wealthy and work FOR the people (Pacquiao) because otherwise the only reason to run for office is to get into position to steal from the people. Stealing from the people lasts until someone gets jealous and decides to remove you the old fashioned way, by force. Getting elected is also a way for congressmen to apparently be immune from prosecution or arrest so that might be a reason to run for certain offices. There is a current congressman from Dinagat Province in Mindanao who is under indictment for chopping up his wife in Cebu about 10 years ago and it seems that congressmen can’t be arrested or prosecuted for crimes while in session. That situation needs to be addressed so political office is not a wall of immunity.

Given those inequities all over The Philippines, I feel safe and secure in Bukidnon because I’m not elected, not rich and not the owner of a major business.

However, for the umpteenth time…HOW DO I CORRECT TYPOS IN THIS BLOG??? PLEASE< BLOG OWNER, TELL ME HOW TO DO SO WHEN AN ERROR IS DISCOVERED WHILE PROOFREADING!!!
