MALAYBALAY CITY | BUKIDNON TOURIST SPOTS – The Monastery of Transfiguration, also known as the Benedictine Transfiguration Monastery, is one of the Province of Bukidnon’s prime tourist spots.
Located at Barangay San Jose, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, the Monastery of Transfiguration is a favorite place of refuge for people who want to go on a retreat. They have rooms for rent and there are packages inclusive of meals. You can also pray alongside the monks. They pray 7 times a day beginning at 3:40 AM.
The centerpiece of the monastery, however, is the cone shaped church, which is a popular choice among soon-to-wed couples. Known for its world class architectural design, the Monastery of Transfiguration church in Bukidnon was designed by the late Leandro Locsin, National Artist for Architecture.
The Benedictine Transfiguration Monastery is also known for its gift shop where you can buy the famous and very delicious Monks’ Blend Coffee (arabica robusta coffee beans).
There are no entrance fees to the monastery. They do have guidelines for proper attire inside the church.
