President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III delivered his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) as elected president yesterday, July 25, 2011 at the start of the second session of the 15th Congress. Before members of both Upper and Lower Congress as well as other national, regional and local government officials, dignitaries, diplomats and guests, he delivered his 2011 SONA speech in Filipino.
In case you missed it, you can read the full text of President Noynoy Aquino’s SONA 2011 HERE. You can also read its English version HERE.
In our most recent blog entries, we all asked you, dear BukidnonOnline.com readers and subscribers, what you guys thought of the 2011 SONA.
While we’re waiting for more answers, we thought of asking two of our Bukidnon congressman as to what they thought of President Aquino’s SONA 2011.
BukidnonOnline.com got in touch with two members of Congress.
Here’s what Bukidnon 1st District Congressman Jess Paras and Bukidnon 2nd District Florencio Flores, Jr. have to say: (please note that these congressmen sent these statements to BukidnonOnline.com via text message)
Paras: “It was a sincere speech. It gives us Filipinos hope for a change in our ways which can lead to a better life for all.”
Flores: “For me, the statements were generalized rather than specific. I believe the people and I were expecting more concrete accomplishments, definite plans for his second year.”
There.
So apart from sharing with us your thoughts about PNoy’s State of the Nation Address 2011, we would also like to know what you thought of our congressmen’s opinions. Do you agree with any (or perhaps both) of them? Please share your thoughts below. Thanks!
